NT Resources Week - 18 and 19 September

Published

The NT resource industry is worth around $6.2 billion, and is one of the largest job creators with around 5,300 people directly employed by the sector.

As the Territory works towards the 2050 target for net-zero emissions, the offshore and onshore gas resources will play a vital role as a transitional fuel in the journey to renewables, as well as downstream processing. It is critical this is done sustainably, with a world-class regulatory regime to minimise impacts to our environment.

The annual NT Resources Week will be held at the Darwin Convention Centre on 18 and 19 September and is northern Australia’s largest resource industry conference.

On the agenda for this year is the Territory growing sector, the energy transition for Australia, the NT Gas Plan, net zero emission by 2050, infrastructure to support growth, critical minerals plus updates from various NT explores and geological experts.

This joint event unites 3 of northern Australia’s foremost resource industry events: The South East Asia Australia Offshore and Onshore Conference (SEAAOC), Mining the Territory Conference and the NT Clean Energy & Decarbonisation Forum.

Run in partnership with the NT Government, NT Resources Week is a leading event for the mining, exploration, engineering, oil, gas, sustainable energy and environmental management industry across northern Australia and South East Asia.

The Northern Territory’s Local Jobs Fund supports transformational projects and Territory businesses increase exports of goods and services both interstate and internationally. The fund aims to increase employment in the Territory and provide access to capital that may not otherwise be readily available to accelerate project and business growth.
