Territory Energy Link

Published

The Northern Territory Government has announced its commitment to a multi-user, multi-asset infrastructure corridor stretching from Elliott to Darwin.

Territory Energy Link is a key enabler for future energy security for the Territory and the nation.

The 670 km corridor will provide certainty for industry, connecting major energy projects in the Beetaloo Sub-Basin to Middle Arm and other strategic infrastructure in Darwin.

The Territory Energy link will grow the Territory to become the most competitive place to live, work and invest - accommodating buried services, including water, optical fibre, hydrogen gas and other services in the future.

Current status

The Territory Energy Link project is now entering a feasibility phase. A prefeasibility study completed in 2024 identified a preliminary alignment which takes into consideration connections to existing infrastructure, avoids known constraints, and minimises environmental and cultural impacts.

A 530 m wide study area corridor will be investigated through this stage to determine the final 130 m wide corridor alignment.
