Record NT Resources Week following historic Beetaloo first gas
Last week, the NT Government welcomed the largest NT Resources Week ever held in the 18 years of the symposium and marked the first gas released from the Beetaloo Sub-basin.
With over 900 attendees, NT Resources Week combined 3 key events – The South East Asia Australia Offshore and Onshore Conference (SEAAOC), Mining the Territory and the Clean Energy and Digital Infrastructure Forum.
The annual event was held at the Darwin Convention Centre on 2 and 3 September and connected the mining, exploration, engineering, oil and gas, construction and environmental management sectors from across Australia and the globe.
Presentations from key proponents included Tamboran Resources, Beetaloo Energy, Daly Waters Energy, Santos and Arafura Rare Earths.
The Territory has 16 developing mining projects and the sector is set to rapidly expand with major new mines at Arafura Rare Earths' Nolans project and Hanking Gold’s Mount Bundy project, both commencing construction this quarter.
Development of gas resources in the Beetaloo will generate significant economic benefits for the Territory, supporting thousands of jobs, driving private investment and reinforcing the NT’s position as a key contributor to Australia’s energy future.
From civil construction and transport to fabrication, testing and other specialist services, Territory businesses are helping build the industry on the ground, with more opportunities to come as production ramps up.
The NT Government was the host government partner of NT Resources Week and the Department of Mining and Energy was the lead agency.
